Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path, and leave a trail.

The plan this week:
Sunday: 35 minutes treadmill, walk 3, run 3; abs

Monday: 35 minutes bike; weights

Tuesday: Swim

Wednesday: 35 minutes treadmill, walk 3, run 3; abs; weights

Thursday: Swim

Friday: 35 minutes elliptical; abs; weights

Saturday: Rest day

Sunday: 35 minutes treadmill, walk 3, run 3; abs

I'm not being real specific right now; my goal is to lay out a simple schedule and see if I can stick with it. If I can, I'll up my expectations next week. Sunday's goal is d-o-n-e DONE. I got a 3-month membership at our local community center yesterday and I love it! It's only 3 blocks from my house - literally, I can see our home from the treadmill. That makes getting to the gym so much easier to contemplate. The thing only cost me $65 total and it's only three months, so if I decide in May that it's too nice outside to be cooped up in a gym (as I usually do when the snow starts to melt), I won't feel like I'm wasting money at a gym if I don't go every night.

I did take on some running yesterday for the first time in, oh, about six months. It started out great - I felt absolutely fabulous and couldn't believe I hadn't forgotten how to move my legs that way. After about 10 minutes, though, I started to feel the knee twinge. I can't tell if, at that point, I started overcompensating my strides because I was afraid of really hurting myself or if the pain persisted on its own ... either way, it hurt enough to give me caution in moving forward. I'm going to try to teach myself how to run again because it does feel wonderful, but if I can't keep it up, that's OK. Onto other things I'll have to move.
