I didn't get my drink on on Friday. I had plans with the fiance, but he came home sick ... kind of like the rest of the free world right now. They were even talking about the flu pandemic on the news this weekend. It's nuts.
Anyway, I did get in 35 minutes on the treadmill Friday night, about 2 miles. I started back doing the run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes thing, and I'm shaving 30 seconds off the walk portion every two sessions so that in a couple weeks, I'll be back to full running. Although to prevent injury on my poor, crappy knee, I may keep some walk breaks in my running pattern - maybe a minute's rest after every mile or something? I'm just very worried about developing leg problems that prevent me from keeping up with this.
Saturday, I tried to swim but had completely forgotten that the pool was closed for maintenance. Boo. So I did 30 minutes on the bike and some serious lifting instead - so serious that my arms are still screaming today. Yesterday, we took the pup on a 3-mile brisk walk around the lake. It was fabulous for many reasons: Q.T. with the fiance, an easy yet worthwhile workout for me, and one tired puppy that led to her sleeping peacefully most of the night (as opposed to shoving her ball in my face over and over and over and over, as she usually does).
Tonight, it's the treadmill, weights and abs. And a mountain of ironing that I've been avoiding for about the last decade. That's gotta count for some kind of arm work.
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path, and leave a trail.
