Did I make it to my mini-gym this weekend to check out the treadmill situation? No. No I did not.
Am I starting to feel like a phony posting on a "running blog" even though there is no running happening in my life as of late? Yes, yes I am.
Is the nagging feeling that I really should post something adding to the number of things making me feel like a slacker lately? It is, indeed.
I don't want to give up on this blog, nor do I want to give up on my running goals. Things just aren't jiving for me lately. I got 10,000 things accomplished this weekend. Unfortunately, none of those really relate to keeping me healthy (well, I did get a fantastic workout in the yard again and my muscles are sore, but I'm not going to cop out and consider that training).
I'm doing this Turkey Trot in a mere month, which means I need to get my rear in gear real quick. Three miles may be nothing to many of you, but three miles after about four months off of serious running is going to hurt. Hurt bad. Unless I do something about it.
I've got to find time, but this week I already have happy hours or hair cuts or fundraisers to attend every night but Friday. By the time I get home, it's dark (or I'm buzzed) and I need to tend to the indoor things I need to get done. Like the fungal-covered bathroom that needs to be cleaned or my massive stack of laundry. I don't know how you all do this; I really don't. Especially those of you with kids! I know if I really want this, I'll find the time ... sounds so simple, doesn't it?
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path, and leave a trail.

You have plenty of time to prepare yourself for your turkey trot -- you can do it!
And as for the blog funk, keep in mind that the blog is for YOU, not for others. So, if that means you want to post about other topics, post sporadically, post regularly, or pull the plug, it's up to you.
You know, I've been running in the dark sometimes...it's not all bad if your neighborhood is safe. And don't worry about the non-running. I've been that way this year, all year it seems and this is your blog, you can do what you want. so what if it's not running related.
