Sign up for a race, already! I don't know why this hasn't dawned on me sooner - I guess it's because I've been preoccupied with other things this summer. But, DUH. I finally reminded myself yesterday that even though it's getting colder fast here in Minnesota, race season is by no means over. There are plenty of good 5K's and 10K's left this year, and if I'm going to kick my rear into gear and get running again, a race is just the thing I need in my Viewfinder.
I have two in mind: a Halloween-themed 5K on Oct. 28 and a Turkey Trot (5K) in mid-November. It's not a huge distance, but it's something to work toward without overwhelming myself with training goals right now. I'm focused on endurance at this point so I feel this is exactly what I need.
The task at hand right now, though, is getting myself packed and prepared for St. Louis. We're headed there for a quick weekend trip - catch up with friends Friday night, wedding on Saturday, home on Sunday. I'm pumped; I haven't been down there in a year and there are many friends I haven't seen for longer than that. I will be a happy camper this weekend - hope you are, too!
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path, and leave a trail.

Training to do well on 5Ks is a great way to stay motivated! You go, girl! Have fun in St. Louis!!!
Umm... here is one for you...
how about BOTH?!
Good luck with the choice!
Running in costume would be fun. I'm tempted to do the James Paige Blubber run (I think it's still coming up) as I've heard it's fun...5K is a good distance though, gets you out there and everything. You can do a race each month, even in MN so nope, it's never over!
Hey, you're headed over to my neck of the woods this weekend! Wanna help corral a bunch of eight year olds? Oh, wait, you've got a wedding to go to. I guess that would be a little more fun, eh?
Have fun here in the 'Lou this weekend!
I'm with teacher - do both ;)
Good luck with your decision!
I don't know what it is, but I love Turkey Trots and try to do one every year.
The races sound like fun.
And I must say I'm so jealous - STL is my home - I wish I was there. Have fun.
