Hum Drum

I said I'd post if I had anything good to say, and I can't say that's the case. But, I feel like I need to post something. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to comment on everyone else's posts this week, but I'm reading as many as I can!

My goal to walk at the Fair is going well; I end up walking about 2 miles/day, I'd say, and while that's no substitution for a good run, at least I feel like I'm moving. I also have managed to avoid most of the bad food (minus that ice cream cone last night) and not a single cheese curd has touched my lips ... yet.

This is how tired I am this week, though: I end up parking at least 1/2 mile away from the fairgrounds on a good day, and I usually take whatever spot I can find so which street I'm on differs from day to day. Last night, I'm walking to my car in the dark and go to the street I apparently parked on two nights ago (not realizing this at the time). I walk up and down the street three times, my heart beating faster each time, and finally conclude my car has been stolen. I call my boyfriend in tears of panic, ask him to come pick me up, and then walk over to the next street "just to check."

Yup. There it was. There sat my Honda, untouched, not stolen. This is the second time in my life I have believed my car was stolen, although this time I figured it out before calling 911.

On a positive note, I got a run in - I sprinted to my car as soon as I saw it, giving me a good half-block work-out. That's gotta count for something, right?

Isn't that a scary feeling? Thinking someone stole your car? Well, I didn't care much when I thought it was my first car -1992 Mercury Sable!
