No Pep in my Step

Did not do 6 miles last Friday as planned. In fact, I didn't do any miles this weekend, but I did do a lot of dancing at the wedding, and I'm pretty sure I sweat off at least 16 pounds.

I'm starting to have second thoughts about my half marathon training. I just can't get into a groove this summer. I have so much other stuff going on that running is beginning to feel like an annoying obligation, not an escape. How, oh how, do I get back on track?

I'm going to pound out the obligatory 3.5 tomorrow morning at 5:30 like a good little runner girl, and I will try to fit in 6 or 7 on one of my days off this week (Thursday and Friday). That means when my family is in town this weekend, I'll have to get up early and get in another short run on Saturday. Because Sunday is my birthday, and there will be no running on my birthday, unless it involves me running through a maze of cake and beer - because that's what birthdays should be about.

A maze of cake and beer! That sounds like heaven!
