Out of the Loop

I am so out of the loop lately. I haven't really caught up on anyone else's blog in over a week - this, from a girl who once thought she had a serious blog addiction.

Likewise, I haven't been running in almost a week, and I don't know that I really care. I'm just so 'eh' about the whole running thing right now. There's not a bone in my body that feels like getting out there. Usually if my desire to run doesn't get me, the guilt does - that little, evil runner man that sits on my shoulder and screams in my ear when I haven't gone in a while. He's on summer vacation or something.

I don't get it. I think part of it is because I have a lot of other things going on in my life right now. But there is some other, mysterious factor that's sucking all the motivation out of me lately.

How do I fix this?

Update: I know what it is! It's the THREE pieces of black forest cake I've eaten today. Seriously: three large pieces of pure, fudgey-chocolate cake and it's only 3:30. Yesterday, I ate two pieces of the cake I brought to work for my birthday treat. This weekend ... well, it's self-explanatory that this weekend's eating/drinking was not up to par. And I'm seriously wondering why the guilt-patrol runner man on my shoulder basically sucked the life right out of me and ran for his life?

retail therapy helped me get out and run. so did compiling new tunes. maybe try to think of running just for fun...with no distance or time in mind.

mmmm chocolatey..gooy ... cake! That would distract me from running.

Well, I hope you get back out there soon... maybe you just need some change in your running routine? I don't know. Just an idea I thought I would through out there.

As far as mapmyrun.com, I love it. Just because it is a way to keep track of your training and so forth... you can save the runs you have done, so you know how long they are and such! Wonderful. Except, I am no longer posting it to my blog. It seems as if it take too long to load my page then.. I don't know.

Everyone needs a break every now and then. And I agree with teacherwoman, maybe a change in your routine will pump you up a bit.

And your mention of cake just made me hungry. Mmmmmmm!

Hope your runs are making a comeback. I know what you mean. Some days, I just don't feel like running and don't really care.
