Eh, I'm still in a crappy funk. Haven't run, don't feel like running, haven't done much of anything in the past week. Nothing active, anyway, unless you count lifting various cans and bottles from a table to my mouth as exercise.
I hesitate to say this, but I think I may have found something that will help me make a comeback. Well, two things: one is some of the advice left on my comments page. I agree with some of you that I just need a change - no more aiming for a goal, just running for fun for a while and remembering why I do it.
Second: an upcoming race. It's Sept. 23, and I'm giving it serious thought. It's 10 miles - not the 13.1 (originally 26.2, shaved down to 13.1) I hoped to be running this fall, but still a pretty admirable distance to tackle, if you ask me. Plus, the money is for a good cause (unlike the usual race fee I fork over without having any idea where the hell it's going).
We'll see. My goal for tonight is to do a leisurly jaunt, and if I only eke out a mile, so be it.
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path, and leave a trail.
