Today, I'm doing a PSA for my home state, Wisconny. While I do not live there anymore, it still has a special place in my heart. If you're unfamiliar, let me assure you that we have much more to offer than cows and cold. As we speak, the legislature is in the process of passing a new law that will add yet another reason to the long list of excuses to love that state. Read on:
Thanks to the state Senate, you're a step closer to getting a free (yes, free!) half-can of beer.
The Senate approved a bill on an unanimous voice vote Tuesday that allows grocery and liquor stores to hand out samples of up to 6 ounces of free beer per day to people of legal drinking age. The Assembly was expected to take up the measure later Tuesday.
Current state law allows wineries, but not brewers, to offer up to 6 ounces of free samples. http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_107153728.html
Of course, being the dedicated athlete that I am, I would never partake in such an unhealthy habit. But if I were to sip the devil's brew, what a convenient little law this would be. As someone who makes a living in the political world, I truly appreciate the bipartisan work being done to pass such an important measure.
It's obvious that beer is on my mind more than running today. I did a boring cross/strength workout last night -- nothing eventful. Tonight I'm doing an easy 2-3 miles to give my shins a rest. Maybe I will use some tasty brews to ice my shins tonight so I don't feel as guilty consuming them after my run.
